Farewell My Concubine

It is based on a Chinese historical story of General Xiang Yu (232-202 BC) and his concubine. The name Farewell My Concubine is from a well known peking opera about this sad story of love and the defeated warlord in the game of throne. Also one of my favourite Chinese movies has the same name which is mainly about the culture revolution. 

I chose this theme as I love to include peking opera elements in my abstract painting so I can hang it in my studio. Mainly palette knives were used to explore the texture and strokes.
